TIME MAGAZINE:  Nonito "The Flash" Donaire is the best bantamweight in the world today


The latest poll conducted by The Ring Magazine picked Nonito “The Filipino Flash”  Nonito Donaire as the best bantamweight in the world today.
The 28-year-old Donaire got 82.5 % of votes as top choice to answer the question: “Who is the best bantamweight boxer today?”

Fernando Montiel came in second with 10.9 % of votes.  The unbeaten Mares received 2.9 % of vote to place third behind Donaire and Montiel.
Joseph Agbeko of Ghana who defeated by UD Columbian Yhonny Perez placed 4th with 2.2% of votes, while Perez placed 5th with 1% of votes.
Panamanian Anselmo Moreno with 0.7% placed 6th.

Montiel vs. Donaire Feb. 19, fight
By February 19 (Feb. 20 in Manila), boxing aficionados the world over will be treated to 12 explosive rounds at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, as Vic Darchinyan conqueror Nonito Donaire will challenge Fernando Montiel for the Mexican WBC and the WBO 118 pounds belt.


Bear in mind that the two of them are currently rated bamtamweight giants.  What will happen when 2 opposing forces of their kinds clash?  The pressure as the fight draws near even becomes more exciting as far as Nonito Donaire, 28, with a fight record of 25-1-(17) is concerned, when he said:  “The question to me is what is going to happen when he fights a guy that is just as intelligent, just as strong and just as good as he is"


The Mexican champion 31-year old Fernando Montiel 44-2-2-34 predicts their fight this way:  “I do see it ending in a knockout. I don't see it going the distance. I honestly don't even see it going 10 rounds. I think that it will end in a knockout before 10 rounds. 
I'm saying, of course, that I will win by knockout”
